FOS, in collaboration with the MV Shellfish Group and the Martha’s Vineyard Commission, is funding extensive Bathymetry (depth) and Tidal Flow measurements of Sengekontacket.
The first salt marsh elevation monitoring site on Martha’s Vineyard is the Sengekontacket marsh at Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.
The towns shellfish departments have already invested into growing the oyster population in Sengekontacket, and we proposed an experiment somewhat different from that of the towns. Read more to learn about our proposal!
FOS has sponsored two interns every summer since 2015 as an opportunity for two students to get hands on learning experience and help out our community.
MV CYANO is a collaborative initiative among Island Boards of Health and scientists from Great Pond Foundation (GPF) to monitor cyanobacteria on Martha’s Vineyard.
