State Beach Task Force

The State Beach Task Force (SBTF) is a collaboration of FOS and Mass Audobon Felix Neck with a specific goal to maintain the integrity of and to protect the beach for wildlife and people.  The SBTF began in 2020 and developed several strategies to meet its goals: support Felix Neck in the installation of enhanced virtual fencing in key areas on the ocean side beach to protect bird nesting areas, reach out to websites relating to “vacationing with your dog on MV” in order to provide clarified and corrected information about the county’s strict policy of no dogs on the beach from April 1 – August 31, and, in development, a weekly “pop-up” summer education program about the beach, pond and wildlife – all geared towards beach goers
